With the prolonged lockdown here in Malaysia, the challenges of working from home have begun wearing employees out. In light of this, one of our long-time clients that is a major chemical manufacturer engaged us to organize a virtual teambuilding event. This event gave employees a chance to play, and to bond outside of work by solving mysteries and puzzles together with an exciting and engaging story, solving a murder mystery, and attempting to break out of prison.
Although it was held over the weekend, participants were excited to participate, with many chattering away animatedly in their groups, in which they were given pre-event activities to complete. This prepared them to work together, as well as build up the anticipation of the actual event.
Teams had to complete multiple tasks within the specified times using a digital platform to collect “points” to pass and enroll into the Detective Academy. Each of the tasks carries a different number of points. Teams had to strategize on how to optimize the time used while maximizing the points received.
The session ended with the announcement of the Top 3 winners who managed to finish with the highest number of points in the shortest period, as well as teams chanting their group slogan, and a word of appreciation and celebration of a member of their team.
